Welcome New Life...

On Mother's Day afternoon we saw some new life hanging out in the tree outside the bathroom window. There was a daddy cardinal feeding his baby when Mike called us in. When we walked in the daddy flew away but the baby was still there the rest of the afternoon. It was neat for the kids (and us) to see a new little baby just leaving the nest.

The big news in our house is that Avery has a big bed and a newly painted room. He was so excited and has started sleeping better. Here's a picture of how he sleeps in his new bed...and of his new room. Also I've included a picture of how Blake likes to sleep too...I'm so amazed that these kids don't fall out of bed!

Mother's Day Photos

We had a fabulous Mother's Day lunch with all the grandmas at our house. I made a dinner of cheesy turkey sandwiches, apple salad, romaine strawberry salad with a raspberry spritzer and ice cream sandwich dessert. It was nice to have everyone together to celebate. Here are some pictures from the day!

Fabulous Weather

What a great weekend! The weather has been great. The boys got to get their bikes out today to ride. They both needed a lesson before they could get going! How soon they forget things. We also got out the grill tonight. Man did those brats taste good! Our local DQ opened today too so after supper we got some blizzards.

Both the boys have been little comedians today. Blake told us on the way to hockey that he sure wished it wasn't 52 degrees. We asked him why and he said 'because I'm hot!' Of course we had our winter stuff on because we were headed to the arena! Then tonight after we put him to bed Avery came out to the living room. I asked what he wanted and he said 'Mommy, thank you for giving me my toys back.' Mike and I were both laughing. He had gotten his toys taken away over a week ago because he wouldn't pick them up. I finally gave them back last Friday. Funny that it took him so long to tell me thank you!

Growing like weeds...

We pulled out our board, painted white, that we have been using to measure the boys' growth throughout their childhood. We started it last spring in March. Since then Blake has grown over 2 1/2 inches and Avery over almost 2 inches. We last lined them up to the board on August 10th of 2008 and since we are beginning a new year we wanted to see where we are starting...Avery has grown over 3/4" and Blake 1 1/4" just since August.

Apparently we have have a couple weeds living in our house. We are starting the New Year off right with a new post, a good movie and some more sleep! HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! May this year bring wonderful things to you and yours.

November

Well, we are already half way through November and again I haven't posted in a while. We seem to have so much going on that I never get to it. I started taking a cake decorating class to get some more skills for decorating our cookies. So far it is going well. It is a nice little break and fun to learn something new. I need to get working on our Christmas cookies for an open house we are having.

Mike has been able to get a little hunting in...a lot in my mind but I am sure not in his! He is getting out pretty much every weekend. He is out by himself today. Blake is still enjoying his hockey time. He has been begging us to get him breezers for hockey so I guess Christmas will be good to him. He is improving every week when he skates and it is fun to watch. Next Saturday is their first game day so he is excited! Avery has been getting pumped up for his 3rd birthday. He is so excited for his birthday be we have all been at a loss as to what to buy him! He has come up with a couple ideas for us so that helps.

Here are some of our recent pictures. The one of the two in the old time clothes was taken for a fundraiser. Grandma Sue got them done. They are so cute!
